A seer able to see the future who often helps the teens.

Appearance[]

The Oracle is an old bald man with strange glowing eyes, usually concealed with sunglasses. He wears a light green button shirt, red jacket, khaki slacks and brown loafers.

Personality[]

As one of the few neutral sided characters in the series, The Oracle is often asked by the teens and Cronus to know the potential outcome of an event. Although he is obligated to answer both sides, he makes it clear that he does not want Cronus to win and gain control of the Earth.

History[]

Role in the series[]

He can foresee the future and has been alive for about four thousand years, during which he's never once made a mistake. He is obligated to give such information to those who request it, no matter if the one asking is good or bad. Cronus consults him to find out who or what stands in his way for world domination, and the heroes talk to him to discover Neil's location prior to the team coming together completely and on occasion afterwards. He usually sits by a magazine stand in the streets of New Olympia. Given his strange eyes and his gift of prophecy, he may or may not be a reference to Teiresias, the blind prophet of Zeus. He likes sushi, drinking coffee, and thinks he looks like a bald cat. Though his appearances were limited to Chaos 101-103 and 1.26: Time After Time in season 1, he becomes a recurring character in season 2, usually approached by Theresa whenever she begins to doubt her psychic abilities

Relationships[]

  • The Chosen Ones: The Oracle is shown to interact with them more than anyone else in the series, especially Theresa. While he has to remain neutral to all sides, he often helps them out however he is able to since he also wants them to be victorious. As Theresa shares a similarity in power to his own, he is able to help her figure out her powers when she needs help most.
  • Cronus: Even though he is obligated to help Cronus like he does with the chosen teens, The Oracle makes it clear that he does not wish to see Cronus succeed and will at times mock him for thinking he can change the future.

Trivia[]

  • The true Oracle in the myths was actually a woman.
  • He takes on the appearance of a newspaper salesman possibly because the giving of information relates to his powers.
