Physical Appearance[]
Polyphemus is a giant like being with a muscular physic with the exception of a slight pot-belly. He wears a brown loincloth and gold wrist bands. As a cyclops, he only has one eye but is missing his actual eye due to Odysseus having stabbed it in ancient times. Without his eye, Polyphemus was forced to learn his trade without sight until Cronus gave him a replacement.
Personality[]
Polyphemus is shown to have harbored a great grudge against Odysseus for blinding him in ancient times and had wanted revenge. However, he is shown to not be easily swayed by Cronus' claim that Odie was Odysseus and would prove to be very honorable when he released Odie and the others as he had no grudge against them. Polyphemus would then become their ally and warn them of any danger from Cronus he became aware of.

Mythology[]
After the Trojan War, Odysseus and his crew were captured by the cyclops Polyphemus and trapped within his cave on an island. To defeat him, Odysseus and his crew blinded him with a giant flaming staff. They then managed to escape by clinging to the underbelly of Polyphemus's sheep as they were let out to pasture; when the blind Polyphemus touched the sheep's backs, he could not detect them, and so they were inadvertently let free.
When Polyphemus ultimately discovered this trickery, he swore vengeance upon Odysseus as he fled the island. After he was blinded, he took up the art of smithing and forging to redeem himself in the eyes of the gods, working in the forge of his brethren cyclops Brontes, Steropes, and Arges in Mt. Etna.
