Special pendants used by The Chosen Ones.
Appearance[]
They are gold and worn around a chain. Each one is monogrammed with the individual's first initial. To everyone else, they appear like ordinary jewelry pieces although the pendants are normally tucked under their shirts and are out of sight.
Plot[]
Each of the teenage heroes found one of these prior to being recruited and sent to New Olympia. They identify the teenagers as heroes and are used as keys to open the school janitor's door to the secret hide-out of the gods, as well as access the weapons storage and the security system-controlled elevator.
According to Hephaestus in Cronus Keystroke, the keys are programmed to transport to a single specific location and cannot be changed. He also claims that the keys cannot be tampered with but beings such as the The Telkhines have the magic and blacksmith skills necessary to unlock the keys to the pre-programmed location.
Trivia[]
- When a key is placed in the special lock, a dial on the back will rotate to signify the unlocking; the needle starting at the bottom, rotating counterclockwise once, and ending back at the bottom.
