A nymph famous for having been in love with Narcissus and becoming the founder of echoes.
Appearance[]
Echo is a petite young woman with blond hair and brown eyes. The tips of her ears are pointed, signifying she is a nymph. She is only seen wearing a white dress, a small gold tiara, and golden sandals.
Personality[]
While peppy, Echo demonstrates she becomes near obsessive when she becomes fixated on something, particularly a person. When she became fixated on Neil, she stalked him for a short while before kidnapping him to her domain and tried to keep him from thinking of anything besides being with her.
However, when she realized how serious the situation with Cronus was, she lent her powers to the young heroes and nearly stopped Cronus single handedly.
Role in the Series[]
Over thousands of years, Echo learned to manipulate sound waves, regaining her own voice and speech in the process, being able to imitate the voices of others and powers that have sound, construct a device that can allow her to eavesdrop on others, managed to create another body for herself, and learned how to teleport. The nymph falls in love with and kidnaps Neil who quickly becomes annoyed of her still talkative nature but ends up helping him save Jay and the others from Cronus when Neil tells her the defeat of his friends means the end of the world and, more importantly, sounds and Neil himself. After the adventure, Echo decides that Neil is too self-absorbed for her tastes and dumps him before he can do the same to her.
History[]
Echo is a mountain nymph who loved the sound of her own voice and would talk incessantly, especially if she got the last word. When her constant chatter annoyed a god, she was punished so that she would only repeat the last word of others, thus the origin of echoes. Echo fell in love with Narcissus, who rejected her and broke her heart before her body faded away and left only her voice.
Relationships[]
- Narcissus: Echo was deeply in love with Narcissus, but he did not love her. His rejection caused her to fade away until only her voice remained. Her love for him appeared strong enough that she would later project it onto Neil.
- Neil: Echo falls in love with Neil, partially due to his incredible resemblance to his ancestor. She stalked him for a short period before kidnapping him and refused to allow him to return to his friends until the situation with Cronus happened. After the fight, Echo decided she no longer loved Neil as he was too self-absorbed for her taste.
