The Caucasian Eagle is an automaton creation of Hephaestus tasked by Zeus to devour the liver of Prometheus at his temple in the Caucasian Mountains every day for all of eternity, as punishment for defying Zeus and providing man with the gift of fire.
After Hercules set Prometheus free, the Caucasian Eagle no longer needed to serve its traditional purpose, though it continued to nest nearby in the years that followed. Thus, when Cronus saw to the lighting of the signal fire in order to summon the beast to devour Granny, the Eagle complied. Granny was able to keep the Caucasian Eagle at bay until the Chosen Ones could intervene.
Following Odie's direction, Archie and Atlanta doused the signal fire, calming the Eagle from its frenzied state. Granny proceeded to then remove the bolas that were binding the Eagle's mouth, gaining its trust. Together, Granny then rides with the Eagle to rescue Herry and Campe from Cronus, with the Eagle pinning down one of the Giants after it was knocked down by Campe. The Eagle saves the day once again by catching Herry and Campe, who had been left dangling from a cliff after confronting Cronus. Afterwards, Granny feeds the Eagle one final time before releasing it.
