Apollo is God of the Sun, prophecy, medicine, and the arts, one of his attributes being the lyre.
Appearance[]
Apollo is a tall man with a pot belly. He wears a white male toga with gold sandals. He has short blond hair, eyebrows, mustache and beard.
Personality[]
He is often seen being cheery and energetic but does become serious when the situation calls for it. He highly enjoys music and dances to music he enjoys. While his interactions with the chosen teens are not as often as the other gods, when he does offer help and advice it is often the key to helping solve the situation at hand. He is depicted as being out of touch with the modern times but has some knowledge of current events and owns a boombox.
In the Series[]
As the deity of music, Apollo is often turned to when occasions arise relating to music or a particular creature needs control through music. The two episodes best showing this are The Nature of Things and Man's Worst Enemy.
Mythology[]
Patron god of the Arts, the gift of prophecy and also connected with light (which in Greek also can be translated illumination). He was born on the island Delos with his sister Artemis. He is the son of Leto, daughter of The Titan Coeus, and Zeus.
Artemis was challenged to hit an impossible target by her brother, Apollo which was Orion's head, swimming away. She shot an arrow and struck her target. When she realized it was Orion, she was heartbroken that she couldn't save him. Apollo then helped her place Orion in the stars so she would never forget him. There are some stories which say that Atalanta is her and Orion's daughter.
Apollo washes the black blood from the corpse of Sarpedon and anoints it with ambrosia, readying it for its dreamlike return to Sarpedon's native Lycia.
